The conversation will be moderated by art journalist Jacoba Urist whose work has been published in "The Atlantic," "The New York Times," "New York Magazine," "Smithsonian Magazine" amongst others. She is also a contributing editor for "Cultured Magazine" where she profiles contemporary artists.

By synthesizing visual and societal opposites such as romance and pornography, elegance and kitsch, the marvelous and the banal, she explores issues of taste and desire. Her work was featured in MoMA PS1’s inaugural Greater New York in 2000. Solo exhibitions include "Tropical Rodeo," Le Consortium, Dijon, France; "The Snow Queen," Lever House; and "Folly" in Madison Square Park. In 2018, Gagosian Beverly Hills presented "Secrets," a sculpture exhibition inspired by Victoria’s Secret “Angels” and majolica pedestals modeled after Rococo figurines. Her work is on view through 2024 at Chatsworth House, Derbyshire, England. In 2019, The Jewish Museum presented her retrospective. Born in Fort Defiance, Arizona and raised in Miami, she received a BA from Columbia and attended Skowhegan. Rafael Lozano-Hemmer Rafael Lozano-Hemmer is a media artist working at the intersection of architecture and performance art. He creates platforms for public participation with technologies such as robotic lights, digital fountains, computerized surveillance, media walls, and telematic networks. He represented Mexico in 2007 at the Venice Biennale. His public art commissions include Millennium Celebrations in Mexico City, Expansion of the EU in Dublin, Student Massacre Memorial in Tlatelolco, Madison Square Park, Vancouver Olympics, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi. His work is in major national and international collections. Solo exhibitions include Hirshhorn, AmorePacific Museum, Musée d’Art Contemporain de Montréal, SFMOMA. In 2019, “Atmospheric Memory” premiered at the Manchester International Festival and “Border Tuner” connected people across the US-Mexico border using bridges of light controlled by the voices of participants. He was born in Mexico City and received a B.Sc. from Concordia University in Montréal. Alison Saar Alison Saar’s sculpture, prints, and paintings address issues of race, gender, and spirit. She studied art and art history at Scripps College and received an MFA from the Otis Art Institute. Her awards include a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship, National Endowment Fellowships, and the United States Artists Fellowship. Saar has exhibited at many museums, including the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden and the Whitney Museum of American Art, Her art is represented in the collections of the Hirshhorn Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Whitney Museum. She currently resides in Los Angeles and is represented by LA Louver Gallery.
